Continuity of Care
Keeping referrers central to long-term recovery
Residential treatment at The Winslow provides structured, focused support at a critical stage of recovery. Our role is complementary to established therapeutic relationships.
With client consent, we align treatment goals and tailor programme elements in coordination with referring practitioners. Weekly updates and involvement in case reviews ensure continuity.
Following residential care, clients continue into an intensive outpatient phase as part of the programme. Referring practitioners are invited to re-engage at this stage to support a coordinated transition into ongoing care. Our aim is to strengthen, not replace, the foundations you have built.
At The Winslow, we take a collaborative, client-centred approach with no referral-fee arrangements to ensure all referrals are guided solely by the client's best interests.
Working with referrers early on helps us tailor the programme more effectively, highlighting areas requiring focus or approaches that have worked well in the past, allowing the team to engage the client from day one with an informed, highly personalised approach.
Weekly updates and involvement in case reviews during treatment ensure continuity, monitor progress, and flag areas requiring extra attention.
Clients are encouraged to reconnect with their referring provider after treatment to reflect on progress and plan ongoing support. As your trusted partner, we aim to keep you informed and involved, ensuring your client returns with renewed focus and stability.

After over three decades in mental health, my deepest passion remains helping those in recovery reclaim meaningful, connected lives.
Together with a multidisciplinary team, I am honoured to walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate this challenging but rewarding journey.
English
I’ve always been fascinated by the resilience of the human mind — how we adapt, endure, and find our way to healing.
In my experience, addiction often speaks to pain that hasn’t yet been fully heard. Our goal is to create a non-judgemental space where that pain can be understood and transformed.

With more than 20 years as a psychiatric nurse, I consider my role as supporting individuals through some of the hardest chapters of their lives.
Whether it’s in a quiet conversation or simply showing up with presence and care, I believe in second chances, in resilience, and in the quiet strength it takes to begin again.

One thing I’ve learned is that there’s no single path to recovery, and no one theory or model that can fully capture each person’s experience.
At The Winslow, our role is to support each individual in making sense of their story, uncovering their strengths, and identifying what they need to move forward.
English
Recovery from addiction is likely to be one of the most challenging, but also rewarding journeys that clients take in their lifetimes.
It takes a whole new form of courage to face everything and recover. I have the utmost admiration for anyone who sets out on this path.

Addiction can be layered, from the ache of ADHD boredom to trauma or the need to feel “right.” Over time, it can fragment the self, caught between compulsion, guilt and denial.
My approach supports a return to honesty and authenticity, building the strength to remain present and grow.

Addiction can deeply erode the love, trust, and connection within a family. In my work at The Winslow, I support loved ones through their emotional exhaustion, and work alongside them to rebuild bonds, restore hope, and navigate recovery together as a family.
English
I believe recovery is about rediscovering who you are. It is about moving from surviving to building a life that feels honest and meaningful.
I bring my lived experience into the room so clients know they are not alone, and that change is possible.

My perspective is shaped not only by professional training, but also by lived experience. I’ve come to see addiction not as a moral failing, but as a deeply human struggle that looks different for everyone.
Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. I try to create a steady, non-judgemental space where understanding can replace shame, and change can feel personal and sustainable.
English
I see recovery not as a narrow pursuit of abstinence alone, but as a creative and courageous process of rediscovery.
It is the work of transforming past pain into potential and reclaiming authorship over one’s life.

I believe meaningful change in addiction recovery happens when heart and structure work together.

FAQ
Frequently AskedQuestions
Answers to common questions about clinical governance, continuity of care, protocols and collaboration with referring providers.
Clients are encouraged to reconnect with their referring provider after treatment to reflect on progress and plan ongoing care. In some cases, providers begin working with clients during the intensive outpatient phase to ensure continuity and a seamless transition. Our goal is to act as a trusted partner – keeping you informed and involved, and ensuring your client returns with renewed focus and stability.
Medication use is carefully reviewed by our medical team prior to admission and monitored regularly throughout treatment. On arrival, medications are organised and stored safely in our on-site pharmacy and administered by registered nurses, with robust systems in place to document and track administration.
Where appropriate, adjustments may be made in a structured and clinically supervised manner, always with the aim of supporting stability, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.
Safety is a fundamental priority at The Winslow, encompassing both medical and psychological wellbeing. Alongside a caring and compassionate multidisciplinary therapeutic team, The Winslow provides 24-hour nursing support, seven days a week, with specialist observation rooms available for clients who require additional monitoring.
All clinical staff are BCLS trained, and the site is equipped with an AED as well as emergency medications and equipment in line with Ministry of Health licensing requirements.
We maintain robust risk management and incident reporting processes across all aspects of care. The site is secured with CCTV and on-site security personnel to ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients throughout their stay.
We regularly support individuals and families who are based outside Singapore. Our team assists with pre-admission coordination, communication with families during treatment (with client consent), and planning for ongoing care once clients return home.
Family members are invited to participate in family support groups with our trained family therapist, helping them better understand the recovery process and how to support their loved one.
Our approach adheres to strict standards of medical confidentiality, informed by decades of experience within Singapore’s regulatory environment. We recognise that some individuals require additional layers of privacy due to personal, professional, or public considerations.
Our operations from end-to-end are designed to protect personal information and ensure that treatment takes place in a safe, trusted setting. For example, clients may use pseudonyms throughout the programme and all treatment information is stored securely in closed systems and accessed only by clinicians directly involved in care.
Any specific privacy requirements can be discussed during the admissions process to ensure that The Winslow can accommodate your needs.
Relapse prevention is integrated into treatment from the outset. We help individuals understand their personal triggers, develop practical coping strategies, address factors related to overall wellbeing, and build skills that can be applied in everyday life.
As treatment progresses, increasing emphasis is placed on preparing for life beyond residential care. Our 12-week Intensive Outpatient Programme (IOP), which follows the residential phase, provides structure and ongoing support to help clients continue making progress.
With permission from the client, we work closely with existing treatment providers and family members to support sustainable recovery and reduce the risk of relapse.
