Addiction and the conditions that accompany it
When drinking has become harder to control, or has begun to affect your health, work or relationships.
Including dependence on prescription medications, as well as stimulants such as methamphetamine, and other substances.
Including gambling, gaming, pornography or sex. These addictions affect the same systems of reward and impulse control. We treat them with the same seriousness.
We support clients experiencing conditions associated with addiction, including mood disorders, PTSD, eating disorders, and interpersonal or relational difficulties.
A whole-person approachto treatment
A whole-person approach to treatment
Addiction can affect each person differently and touch many areas of life, including physical health, psychological wellbeing, relationships, work, and sense of meaning — often in ways that are deeply personal.
Treatment therefore needs to address more than addictive behaviour itself and be tailored to the individual and their circumstances. Our programme is built around a multi-dimensional model that considers the different ways addiction can affect a person and the foundations needed for lasting recovery.
Every element of care, from psychiatric review and neurorehabilitation to family support and therapy, is purposefully included to strengthen these areas and support the whole person.

Suitability
Who our programme is for
Our programme is for adults whose addiction, and any conditions that accompany it, can be treated safely in a residential, non-hospital setting.
If The Winslow isn’t the right level of care, we will tell you, and help you find the support that is.

- Medically and psychiatrically stable for residential, non-hospital care
- Low to moderate risk to themselves or others
- Able to provide informed consent and communicate fluently in English
